Marion County Recent Arrest Windows
Every Marion County recent arrest starts at one booking point. The Marion County Detention Center in Yellville receives people brought in by the sheriff, city police, and other agencies across the county. The official sheriff roster chooser is the right first stop. It routes visitors to vendor-hosted RPS views with different purposes. One view lists new bookings. Another tracks current inmates. A third shows recent releases. A person can leave the new-booking list yet remain in custody, and someone released may linger briefly under Recent Releases before the entry clears.
Marion County publishes no complete weekly arrest blotter. The dedicated Arrested Today page explains the short intake window, and Arrest Reports covers the missing multi-day log plus the archive fallback.
| Official view | Custody slice | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Current Inmates | People shown in custody now | Confirm present county-jail custody |
| New Inmates | Booked in the last 48 hours | Find a fresh Marion County arrest |
| Recent Releases | Released in the last 48 hours | Check a recent roll-off from custody |
| Sheriff press releases | Selected events only | Read agency context, not a complete log |
When Marion Arrest Bookings Appear
The county's New Inmates view carries a label. It reads "Inmates Booked in Last 48 Hours." That label is a window, not a promise. Someone arrested today may not appear right away. Intake takes time. Staff could still be confirming identity or entering charges. They may be setting a bond field or taking the booking photo. The record may not have reached the vendor yet. The roster posts no refresh clock, so note the time you searched.
Timing matters here. If a fresh Marion County arrest is missing, call the sheriff's office at 870-449-4236. A name can also be absent for other reasons. The arrest may have happened in another county. Or the person was cited without a booking. The arrestee may be a juvenile. Or the record is withheld. The officially linked New Inmates source shows how the 48-hour intake window is presented.
The view shown comes from the county's own booking pages. It separates a fresh intake list from the current-custody roster. Older booking records live elsewhere. Unofficial archives are a different matter.
Search Marion County Arrest Roster
The Marion County jail roster is the county's main official lookup for current custody. Each public card can carry a booking photo. Name, age, and residence appear on many entries. Race and sex appear too. Some cards add the arrested date and time, arresting agency, charges, bond, court date, and court name. Fields vary by entry. A booking number is not consistent across the roster, so request it from the jail when needed.
| Search or display field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name and pagination | Sort and move through all current results; confirm identity when names match. |
| Arrested date and agency | Shows the supplied intake time and arresting source, not always the incident time. |
| Charge and bond | Shows intake charges and an amount that can change by court order. |
| Court date and court | Points toward a later hearing; it does not state the case result. |
| Photo | May appear on a card, but the sheriff does not guarantee an image for every booking. |
Use the roster in a set order:
- Open the sheriff's roster chooser and select the needed custody view.
- Use RPS sorting, page-size controls, and pagination rather than stopping at the first screen.
- Compare the name, age, arrest time, and agency to reduce a wrong-person match.
- Check Recent Releases when a recent name is no longer under Current Inmates.
- Confirm charges and outcomes through the proper Marion County court.
The RPS Current Inmates view is the operational page linked by the sheriff.
Think of the display as a live custody board. It changes all day. It is not a fixed archive of past bookings. Nor is it a court-certified criminal case record.
When Marion's Roster Fails
Marion County splits its jail data across two fronts. The sheriff-facing roster URL sometimes drops offline for maintenance. The official chooser still links to a working RPS vendor view. A temporary error does not mean booking records stopped being kept. Start with the chooser. Then try its vendor link.
If both routes fail, call 870-449-4236. Ask about the specific booking, or file a focused Arkansas Freedom of Information Act request. Include the full name, the approximate date, the arresting agency, and the record you want. An unofficial copy can serve as a lead during an outage. It cannot replace jail or court confirmation.
Note: A missing web card can reflect release, transfer, delay, correction, withholding, or maintenance, so it does not prove that no arrest occurred.
Marion Arrest Apps and News
The RPS roster comes with mobile options. There is a generic RPS Inmate Info Apple app and a Relativity app for Android. Neither is a Marion-branded sheriff app. No separate update schedule is posted. The web roster remains the clearest booking path. The sheriff also posts on Facebook, though without a complete arrest-posting schedule.
Sheriff press releases cover selected investigations and arrests, not every intake. Harrison Daily Times runs regional Marion County law-enforcement stories. New Country 1029 sometimes reports Yellville-area events. Neither outlet keeps a complete mugshot gallery. News adds context once a name surfaces, while the roster answers the custody question.
Where Marion Arrests Are Published
Official sources come first. Each channel covers a different phase of an arrest record. Mixing them can create a false match. Commercial pages rank last, because their copies may sit stale long after the court record moves on.
| Channel | Photo | Status and use |
|---|---|---|
| Sheriff-linked RPS roster | When available | Official path for current, new, and recent-release custody |
| Search ARCourts | No booking gallery | Official case and disposition follow-up |
| ADC offender search | State offender photo | Official state-prison records, not county intake |
| Regional news | Sometimes | Selected stories, never a complete roster |
| Busted Newspaper | Often | Unofficial deep county archive; verify every item |
| RecentlyBooked | Often | Unofficial filterable recent index; publisher cadence is not county cadence |
| Arrests.org / Mugshots.zone | Often | Unofficial dated archives that may outlast official windows |
The RecentlyBooked Marion County page illustrates a secondary, filterable interface.
Dates and filters can speed up discovery. They narrow a search fast. They cannot settle a question on their own. Every result still needs official custody and court confirmation before it counts.
Marion County Arrests by City
All three cities share one booking facility. Bull Shoals and Flippin have city police. Yellville and the county run a joint city-county department. None of the city sites posts a daily arrest feed, so the county roster remains the common booking path.
- Bull Shoals Recent Arrests explains the Bull Shoals Police Department path and county booking handoff.
- Flippin Recent Arrests covers the city police report route and county jail record.
- Yellville Recent Arrests describes the joint department and the county-seat custody system.
Tourism swells Marion County in peak seasons. The lakes and waterways draw visitors as well as residents. The sheriff's system serves both groups. That is service context, not evidence of an arrest trend.
Inside a Marion Booking Record
A booking record starts when a law agency brings someone to the Marion County Detention Center or logs a qualifying hold. It is an operational intake entry. The display helps you locate an arrested person and see the charges entered at booking. It is not the prosecutor's full file.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and descriptive fields | Identity information supplied to the vendor; confirm a same-name match. |
| Arrest date/time and agency | The recorded intake event and who brought or held the person. |
| Charges | Charges at booking, including multiple counts or another agency's hold. |
| Bond | An initial amount tied to a charge or person; it may later change. |
| Court name/date | A scheduled court path, not a judgment. |
| Release value | A supplied custody change; confirm whether release, transfer, or correction occurred. |
- Booking
- Jail intake that records identity, custody, charges, and related fields.
- Bond
- A court-controlled condition or amount connected to release; it is not a case result.
- Arraignment
- An early court event where charges and rights are formally addressed.
- Disposition
- The court's recorded outcome, such as dismissal, acquittal, plea, or conviction.
- Detainer
- A hold requested by another agency or jurisdiction.
Marion Bond Fields Can Change
An RPS card may list a bond amount and a court date. Neither number settles anything. Judges can reset conditions. Each count may carry its own entry. The Marion sheriff and county pages post no local bond schedule. Recent Releases shows when a person left the short release window. It rarely explains the legal reason behind that status change.
Call the sheriff and ask which court is named on the entry. Then check with that court directly. Marion County District Court handles misdemeanors countywide plus preliminary felony matters. Circuit criminal files sit with the Circuit Clerk. Treat a roster date as a pointer only. Rescheduling and later filings live inside the court system.
Marion County Arrest Photos
When a booking photo exists, it sits inside the RPS record card. There is no separate official photo gallery. The sheriff promises no image for every intake. Photos stay up for no stated term. A missing photo can mean delay, withholding, a different custody window, or a record with no public image supplied. It does not prove staff never took one. Once a person transfers to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, a different system takes over. The official ADC offender search returns a state offender profile with a photo, filtered by ADC number, county, name, facility, offense group, age, race, and sex. It will not replace the Marion County jail roster. It may also miss a newly arrested pretrial detainee. The ADC profile format shows the state-custody fields and photo treatment.
A state profile matters after transfer or sentence. It is not proof of a Marion County booking for any given event. Match dates, names, and charges before drawing that link. The county roster remains the local record.
Request a Marion Booking Record
Under Arkansas FOIA, the Sheriff's Office states that booking, incident, warrant, citation, dispatch, civil-process, and related records may be available, subject to exceptions. The county posts no stable online request form. It lists no separate records-unit number either. Call the published main line and send a narrow request to the right custodian.
- Identify the person, approximate arrest date and time, and arresting agency.
- Describe the exact booking sheet, photo, incident report, or warrant information sought.
- Call 870-449-4236 or write to Marion County Sheriff's Office, 221 Randolph Road, Yellville, AR 72687.
- Ask about any nominal processing, actual reproduction, or mailing cost before copies are made.
- If material is withheld, ask which exception applies and whether a redacted copy can be released.
The sheriff publishes no fixed dollar schedule. Arkansas Attorney General FOIA guidance covers actual reproduction and mailing costs. The Flippin Police Department separately posts a $10 fee. That fee covers a police report through its city route. It does not apply to a county booking request.
Arkansas Booking Photo Law
Arkansas Code ยง 4-75-102 governs certain booking-photo publishers. Where its conditions apply, a written request is required. It must include the person's name and date of birth, the arrest date, and the arresting agency. Covered publishers must remove a qualifying photo for free. The deadline is five business days once the legal conditions are met. The rule does not erase the county's source record or a court file. Correction starts at the source. Save the URL and date. Contact the sheriff or clerk and name the exact factual error or filed order. RecentlyBooked documents a free route. It covers specified dismissals, seals, errors, wrong-person matches, juvenile records, and duplicates. Mugshots.zone exposes a Marion form asking for the record URL and support. Arrests.org offers a record-level control, though it posts no clear local fee-free policy. Never pay a service just because it promises to remove a copied booking photo. For eligible underlying records, use the current court sealing forms through the clerk. ACIC starts its 30-day clock only after one step. It must receive an approved, filed order from the clerk. Search-engine refresh tools may update a stale snippet after the source changes. A vanished search result is not expungement.
Why Marion Records Vary
The sheriff FAQ names possible disclosure limits. Juvenile matters, active investigations, and sealed or expunged material top the list. A public copy may be withheld or redacted. Those limits do not mean police keep no file. Nor do they justify guessing about a person whose name or photo is missing. No public Marion County schedule states the retention terms. It does not say how long the jail keeps a booking sheet or photo. Nor does it say how long RPS preserves an entry beyond its visible windows. Ask the records custodian for the retention schedule when an older file cannot be found.
Marion Arrest Warrants and Wanted
Marion County works with two warrant paths. No online name-search portal exists. The sheriff FAQ directs callers to 870-449-4236, where staff can give the warrant date, stated charges, bond, and issuing court. Always ask whether the information is current. A lawyer can advise anyone who believes a warrant may involve them. The separate official Most Wanted list allows sorting by name, date, and arrested status. It has carried three entries. Detail pages may show a photo, physical description, charge, bond, and poster. At least one entry has been marked arrested. That alone shows why an old or cached page needs live confirmation. The official wanted-list disclaimer stresses real-time verification and warns the public not to confront anyone.
Never approach someone on a wanted list. Trying to detain a person yourself puts everyone at risk. Pass along what you know to the sheriff instead. Serving warrants is a job for trained law enforcement.
After a Marion County Arrest
A booking record only opens the file. Arraignment comes next, where a judge may set release terms and prosecutors can change or drop the charges entirely. Marion County District Court handles misdemeanors countywide along with preliminary felony matters. The Circuit Clerk keeps the circuit criminal cases. City courts run separately too. When a roster card names a court, that tells you where to look next.
The public side of Search ARCourts is a good starting point, though a phone call to the right clerk clears up confusing results. Confirm the identity, case number, filing date, and disposition. The charge logged at intake often differs from the one that closes the case.
For custody alerts after an arrest, Arkansas VINE receives data from county jails and the state system. The VINE Arrest Check page walks through the Marion setup and notification steps. Remember that VINE tracks custody and sends alerts. It is not a booking-photo archive or a court judgment.
Older Marion County Archives
The county's online views are working windows, not a vault. Deep searches for older Marion County arrests usually span several places. They include the sheriff, District Court, the Circuit Clerk, Search ARCourts, newspaper files, and the Arkansas State Archives. The State Archives offers many aids. Its holdings include county records, court material, newspapers, microfilm, digital collections, and an Ask an Archivist service.
Yellville's history records two courthouse fires. They struck in 1887 and 1943. Both damaged older records, and real gaps in the files can result. None of that touches today's RPS feed. But it explains why one online page rarely answers a historical question. Material from early law-enforcement collections at the State Archives counts as historical evidence. It is not a modern booking-photo database for Marion.
Custody Beyond Marion County
Where a person sits in custody depends on their stage in the system. A fresh arrest typically means the Marion County Detention Center. Someone sentenced and moved to ADC shows up in the state offender search instead. Federal detainees and prisoners fall to the responsible agency. That may be the federal court or the Bureau of Prisons locator. That BOP tool offers no booking-photo gallery. Immigration custody runs through the official ICE locator.
Never guess federal or immigration status from a county roster note. A hold might point to another agency. Only that agency can say what it means. The sound order is county roster, recent-release view, VINE, court docket. Then comes the right state or federal locator.
